First Indian

Here is Gerry's first attempt at carving an Indian. He started out by hoisting the huge log upright with the help of a neighbor's tractor. Then he started the carving and all was going along just fine until he felt the softness of rotten wood on one side of the head and then the mouth and nose started to crumble and once again a rotten log on the inside, disappointing that it wasn't a good study piece of wood. So he stained it and fixed it as good as possible , put the Peace pipe in his mouth and called it a day. Need better materials to work with, need to find more tree trunks!

Painting the eyes.

Peace pipe with a feather dangling from it!
