Caroline's Quilt

Here is Caroline's quilt. A post or two back was her BFF, Kailey's quilt, and now here is the other half! The ice skating buddies made these quilts to take to their prospective colleges next fall. And this quilt will certainly keep Caroline warm at her Brooklyn college.

Northwoods 4 was the quilting pattern that she chose for her quilt.

Antique Brown thread was used on the quilt.

I love this star block!

Moose, deer and bear and of course, the woods, are all over this quilt.

Several of the blocks have a winter or Christmas look to them.

And this block is certainly in my own plans! However, Caroline's dear mother sent me a copy of the book where these patterns came from, it's from the book Farm Girl Vintage by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet and it is a wonderful book!
Thank you again, Carol!!!!

More of her blocks with all kinds of piecing, applique, paper piecing and everything else in the mix!
And did I mention, this is Caroline's FIRST quilt??

A large quilt to snuggle in next winter and her dorm room will be viewed with envy when her cronies see this quilt!

The border fabrics that show more of the patterns.

And the embroidered label showing her initials and those of her BFF and of course Caroline is from Plymouth MA!

The very soft flannel backing!

Kailey's Quilt

This is Kailey's first quilt! She and her BFF, Caroline,  made quilts to take with them to college this fall!

Kailey chose a summer look with  mellow colors

The blocks were made up with a variety of blocks and techniques! And she nicely accomplished each one!

Anchor Pano 001 was the quilting pattern she chose.

White thread was used on this quilt.

I love this block!

Nicely done!

Done like a pro!

The border which is this great grunge fabric!

The perfect label showing her initials and her friend, Caroline's. They became friends after meeting at skating lessons. And she is a Cape Cod resident!

The cheery backing fabric.

Luci's 4 Patch Vintage Quilt

Nothing like a wonderful 4-patch and that is exactly what this is all about! Luci's sister's mother-in-law made this quilt in the 40's and 50's and it has a bit of everything, especially charm!

Sticky Buns was chosen as the quilting pattern.

White thread was used on the quilt.

Added borders make for a very large quilt!

Lap Quilt for Mom

I made this lap quilt today for my mother who is in recovery from a slight stroke and is in the rehab hospital. I hope it keeps her warm as she sits in her chair. This is the back which is pink and white. Poor light does not reflect the real color.
Flannel check fabric for the backing.

The top is a hot pink fleece, should be warm!

Ann's Poppy Quilt

Here's a bright one! Ann made this small throw and it is a winner!

Fiesta Red thread was used.

Irish Swirls was the quilting pattern.

Bold poppy prints!

Gorgeous fabrics!
The poppy border.

Darlene's Flower Quilt

Imagine looking through your cedar chest one day and finding the long forgotten blocks that your mother had embroidered at one time in her life! That is exactly what happened when Darlene discovered the blocks her mother had embroidered so she put them together to create this wonderful quilt! A great keepsake!

She wanted it custom quilted so I had the designer make quilting pattern just like the embroidery designs.

I used a crosshatch design on the blocks themselves.

The borders and the sashing have the flower designs.

Incredible hand embroidery!

Quilted with Dyed Natural thread.
