Maggie's Quilt

Here is a perfect quilt for a 6 year old, don't you think? It's for Maggie and her grandmother, Carrie, made it for her. You can see the love in it!

She is going to love this quilt!

Funkadelic was the quilting pattern used.

Keywest Lime was the thread used.

This quilt is overly cuddly as Carrie brought a wool batt to use in it and it makes me want to use only wool batts in my quilts from now on! You know they keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer!

The fantastic batik backing!

Terry's Quilts of Valor Quilt

Don't you just love the simplicity and colors of this quilt? Billie made this for her cousin, Terry, as a QOV quilt. I am sure he will truly appreciate and love it!

Meandering Loops was the quilting pattern used.

Pigskin thread was used.

I love star quilts and this one is on my bucket list!

 Nicely put together!

Well done!

Dustin's Wedding Quilt

Kathy's son has a friend named Dustin who is getting married soon, so she made this wonderful quilt for a gift for him. Now isn't that a nice mother of a friend??? WOW!

Great batik fabrics in this quilt!

Leaf Pano 011 was the quilting pattern used.

Mother Goose thread was used.

The rich looking brown batik borders!

I'm sure Dustin and his wife to be will treasure this quilt!

An old Quilt Top

I bought this quilt top at some sale at some point that I don't even remember, but thought I better get it quilted. Somebody took a lot of time in cutting these squares and then hand piecing them. All kinds of prints, a lot of feed sack prints and later fabrics in this quilt.

I used Medium Light Blue for the thread.

The quilting pattern was Maze pano 003.

Used up a couple of pieces of fabric for the backing and it's done! Ok, I still need to bind it.....

Quilting a Vintage DWR quilt

Several years ago my daughter purchased this quilt top on Ebay and so I now got around to custom quilting it for her birthday. I do have to bind it yet, but that will happen soon!

The center pattern.

It was really in pretty good shape considering the age of the fabrics.

I quilted it with Coronado thread.

The backing fabric. It will be bound with pink fabric.

The Crow Girls Wool Applique Classes and Trunk Show

A couple of weeks ago, my Nebraska City Heritage Needlework Guild brought the Crow Girls, Leonie Bateman and Deirdre Bond-Abel to our shores from Australia, Tasmania to be exact.  They own The Quilted Crow in Tasmania and travel all over the world with their trunk shows and wool applique classes. Below are pictures of the trunk show and the classes. It was fun and now I have a couple more unfinished projects, but they will get done!

This is Leonie. So funny and so jet-lagged that night!

Deirdre who brought Vegemite to the second day of classes for me to taste it! I did and now that is off my bucket list for good! EWWW!

Love this one, but of course because there is a star in it!

Fun classes, fun teachers!

Lyn, from More Sew For You brought all kinds of goodies to purchase from her shop in Omaha. She provided kits to purchase in case someone needed one for the classes.

These three framed pictures were the first class projects.

This was one that I got started on and it is still waiting for me to finish......
