Fran's Graduation Quilt

How would you like to get a gift like this for graduation?? Carol pieced this quilt for her daughter's good friend, Fran. It's the Tula Pink Modern Alphabet Quilt done in Kaffe Fassett fabrics! Fran is going to the University of Pennsylvania next fall, so Carol ordered fabric to be made using the University of PA's logo. How cool is that?

The University of Pennsylvania is an Ivy League school, so Carol chose the Ivy Leaf Pano 001 for the quilting pattern.

White thread was used for the quilting.

This "T" is so colorful!

Fran's dorm room will look awesome with this quilt on her bed!
Great quilt!

The Ivy pattern.

The piano key border on the top and bottom of the front of the quilt.

The special order fabric for the back of this quilt!

Alex's Wedding Quilt Gift

Take a close look at this quilt!  Edith created this gem as a wedding gift. She made it for her granddaughter's roommate , Alex, who is from Africa. Alex will love this quilt. She knows what each of the symbols means and Edith appliqued some of them on the top and bottom of the quilt. She then found  a piece of fabric that had countries on it and cut out the shape of Africa.

The cutout of Africa, so neat!

Some of the symbols.

African Life Pano 005 was created and digitized especially for this quilt.

Java Brown was the thread choice.

The pieced blocks  surrounding the center of the quilt.

More symbols.

A great creative quilt and Alex will love it!

Edith is a very creative person!
