Karyl's Pink Layer Cake Quilt

Several different patterns were used on this custom quilted quilt. "Along the Way" series of patterns and Aramis were used on various blocks and the thread used was Golden Wheat.
These are several of the blocks quilted with different patterns. Karyl has made another quilt to be proud of and I just named it the Pink Layer Cake quilt!

The backing has a strip of the front fabrics down the back. Nice!
This shows the backing in bright pink. Click on the picture for a closer look at the quilting.

Does Anyone remember the groovy 70's????

Way back in the 70's and late 60's I had a huge family of these fun plants. I had heard that they were a type of kalanchoe but never had the common name. We moved, and somehow the plants disappeared. Since those days, I have been hunting for these plants in all nurseries around, asking for the plants that had their babies grow on the leaves. The babies will drop to the soil and form another plant, how cool is that? But nobody seemed to understand what plant I was looking for, until a walk through a nursery the other day and to my surprise, there they were, sitting all nice in a row just waiting for me! I found the man who knew all about the plants and they are called "Mother of a Thousand" because as you can see, they form babies all along their leaves and drop them and produce over and over again. I was so excited (doesn't take much!) that I took them home and set them on my windowsill. It has me thinking that I should go look for my macrame plant hanging patterns! Where did I put my twine? How groovy is that?????
The happy families are together again.

The little babies are grown along the leaves.

Alicia's T-shirt Quilt

Debbie made this t-shirt quilt for her daughter Alicia for her high school graduation. Now that's a great gift! It is so colorful and bright and the backing is a very soft cotton so she will stay nice and warm with this quilt. Nice job!
A meander quilt pattern and Mimosa yellow thread was used on the quilt.

Wonderful colorful shirts on this quilt!

Special Olympics Quilt

This quilt was made by 50 Special Olympics kids from all 50 states. Five quilts were made for the Lincoln Quilt Guild and 4 quilts will be auctioned off with the 5th one put in the collections of the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The proceeds will go to Special Olympics. I quilted one for the guild and the thread was white and the pattern was the Special Olympics design. I had Kim Diamond create the pattern. Great job, Kim. I hope this quilt is picked for the study center! The center block.

Several of the blocks that the kids created.

Sharon's Bow Tie Quilt

Flower Swirls and Orchid Pink thread were used on this quilt.
Sharon's mother-in-law had pieced this quilt and Sharon and her sister-in-law have been trying to finish all the quilting projects left to them. Her mother-in-law was quite the quilter and Sharon is happy to have the quilts for such great keepsakes!
